Paradise Lost explanation (61 -83)
It was like a horrible prison blazing like a huge furnace. But there was
no light coming out of that furnace flames but only darkness and through this
darkness only sight of sorrows were visible and scenes of distress. It was the
place where peace and rest can never come, hope never comes. Only thing which
comes is never ending torture and suffering. There was deluge of fire
continuously burning with an inexhaustible supply of sulphur. This is the place
which has been created by Eternal Judge for those who have rebellious attitude.
This underground prison was fixed in utter/complete darkness. The distance
between hell and heaven was three times the distance between the earth, the
center of the universe and the northernmost limit of the universe. Oh, what a
difference was between where they were living before (heaven) and where they
are living now (hell). Satan tried to observe the condition of other fallen
angels where were with him in revolt against God and in what miserable
condition they were? They were overwhelmed by fiery floods and stormy winds.
They were lying unconscious. He soon realized who was near him, next to him in
power and sins, he was identified as Beelzebub. To whom the Arch-Enemy who was
once called SATAN in heaven addressed him in bold words breaking the horrible
silence of heaven.
