Analysis of Sun Rising by John Donne

The Sunne Rising
In Plain English
Busy, old, fool and unprincipled Sun, why you are sending your awakening rays through the windows and curtains to the bed of lovers. Why you think that the lovers should adjust their life according to our motion.  So don’t disturb the lovers. You wretched sun, go and child school boys and apprentice who are getting late. Go and tell court hunters to get ready whose king is going for hunting or tell ants to go into the fields. Do you know that love remains same throughout the year and season or climate do not affect them. Nor they are affected by hours, days and months which are rags of time.
Why do you think that your rays are very respectable and strong, I can eclipse them in the wink of an eye and put them in cloud, but even doing so I don’t want to lose the sight of my beloved?  And if the shining eyes of my beloved don’t blind you, look and come tomorrow late, and tell me whether both the East and West Indies which are known for spice and mine, are there where yesterday you have left them. You would find there, you would find them on my bed. If you want to see the kings whom you saw them yesterday, you would be able to, because you will find them on my bed. Me and my beloved present all the kings of the world.
She and I represents all the states of the world, she is the princess of all the states and I am the prince of all the states, Princes and princesses of the world do nothing but only play our role. Compare to ours, all honor is nothing but an imitation to us and all the wealth is nothing but changing to metal into gold. O old sun, you are the half happy as compared to us because all the happiness of the world have contracted into our bed room. You are old, your age required ease. As we represent all the world, and your duty is to warm the world, you can do this by warming our bedroom only. Shining on us means shining on whole world, our bed is your center and the walls of our bed are your sphere.
