1-2
Alexander Pope is starting his epic poem with the description that sometime little love affairs can cause a dire offence and sometimes the things of no importance can cause a mighty cause.
3-4
O Muse (goddess of poetry), this poem is dedicated to dedicate my friend John Caryll and even Belinda will show her concurrence.
5-6
Though the subject of my poem is not very high but I am sure that if Blinda inspire me it could get a higher praise and if my best friend Caryll may give his concurrence to the subject of my poem. 
7-8
Pope is invoking to the Muse (the goddess of the poetry) to reveal to him the motives which cause the Lord Peter to be liberal with the beautiful lady.
9-10
And also reveal the reasons why this beautiful lady rejected the advancement of the lover (Lord Peter).
11-12
The Lord engaged himself in cutting the lock of the beautiful woman, so Pope wants to confirm that is it possible that a little man could be involved in such a bold act and in a woman (which is considered very soft and gentle) dwells anger of this kind.
13-14
The sun through the white curtains threw the timid rays and opened those eyes which can even eclipse the rays of the sun. The brightness of the eyes of the Blinda is better than the rays of the sun.

The lap dogs awaken and shook off the sleeps and dizziness just like as the lover who could not have the sleep in time and awake at mid-day.
17-18
Thrice she rang the bell to call her maid and knocked her slipper to the ground in anger when her maid could not attend her. She checked the clock to know the exact time/hour.
19-20
Blinda is still resting on the soft pillow and her guardian sylph prolonging her rest.
21-22
The guardian sylph prolonged her sleep while standing silently by her bed side called the morning dream which was hovering over her head.
23-24
This sylph formed of a handsome young man glittering than a fashionable beau (loving guy) and even in her sleep caused her cheek to blush.
25-26
It seemed to lay his enchanting lips over her ears and thus whispered in her ears:

O, you are the most beautiful lady living on earth, you deserve the distinguished care of thousands bright objects of air.
29-30
If any vision told by the nurse or by the priest in your childhood ever impressed you.

The vision of the fairies whose presence can be detected in moonlight shadows while they dance in green circle and the coins put by the fairies.
33-34
And the stories of virgins who are visited by the angels wearing golden crowns and the wreaths of heavenly flowers.

A guardian sylph is whispering her ears and saying her to hear what he is saying and believe in. He says to her, know your importance, and don’t confine your thoughts to the little things.
37-38
There are some secrets which are kept hidden from the well leaned proud people and are told to maids and children.
39-40
No credit can be given to the well leaned proud people to cast doubts on them and fair innocent children always believe in them.
